Bill Quario

Bill Quario enjoys the development of junior players and hopes they one day will experience high school or college-level tennis.

Bill played Division I tennis from 1988 to 1992 at the University of San Francisco, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in politics.

He became a tennis pro in college, teaching summer camps on campus and at a private tennis facility. Bill discovered that he enjoyed teaching and working with children, which grew into working with college athletes and adults. He still enjoys the daily interaction with both adults and children.

This USPTA Pro 1 is the head tennis professional at The Beach & Tennis Club of Pebble Beach in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Bill has been with The Pebble Beach Company for about 14 years. He served as an associate tennis professional, assistant pro and assistant pro shop manager before becoming the Head Tennis Professional.

Bill has received awards for Employee of the Month and Employee of the Quarter and was nominated for Employee of the Year. He also has been honored with the Whatever it Takes Award, Recognizing Outstanding Contributions Award, and Excellence in Hospitality Award.

He previously was employed as an assistant women’s tennis coach at the University of San Francisco and by Courtside Trading Cards Inc.

The USPTA Northern California Division named Bill its Associate Tennis Professional of the Year in 2000 and 2002 and the Rookie Pro of the Year for the Monterey region in 1997.

He is a member of the USTA, the Nike club pro staff and the Prince National Team.

The highlight of his life as a tennis pro, he says, is “sharing my love for the game with all my clients, but especially with my own children and watching them compete in matches and tournaments.”

His greatest personal reward is “having a happy and healthy family.” Bill has been married for 12 years and has three children.
